FLYING "F" RANCH

“Classic” Bulls we Owned

WEP Paycheck 750 was our first real (top right ) “herd mover." Paycheck only weighed 64lbs. at birth, yet when the first Red Angus Sire Summary was published in the early eighties, Paycheck was the number two WW bull in the breed and he maintained at or near that level for many years.

The next power bull we added to our program was BJR Hobo 800. Hobo was (pictured right) the best son of the great BJR Yogo and he passed that greatness on to his sons and grandsons as exemplified by several famous sire lines bearing his name such as Buffalo Creek Hobo 1961, Basin Hobo and the BJR HiHo 916.

Our next senior herd sire was LMB Johny Reb 091. (not pictured) Reb was a trait leader for WW and YW for many years and his sire groups topped feed-tests for us several times. JR 107 is probably his most famous son and many of his daughters are top cows in purebred herds nation wide.

Then came BJR HiHo 916, (pictured with calf ) triple trait leader for WW, YW and Milk. His sons were the highest gaining sire group at Midland for three years running and he sired such greats as Holden 574 and BJR High Capacity. His daughters are prized as producers of both herd bulls and superior females.

Our most recent senor herd sire (pictured right) is CCF King Lear, a King Rob son out of the famous “James 904” cow. 904 and her daughter were the no. 1 & 2 total maternal cows in the breed for several years. Lear is about as long and thick as they come and his offspring excel in growth, carcass (both RIB and Marbling) and total maternal traits. Lear has it all!
