Judith 278 was my “pick of the flush” weaned calves purchased from Foshee Red Angus when they were flushing the James 904 cow. James 904 was at one time the number one maternal cow in the Red Angus breed. She moved to second place only when she was replaced by one of her own daughters, making Judith 278 a daughter of, and a maternal sister to, the one time number one and number two total maternal cows in the breed.

278’s pedigree lists many of the breed’s great sires, including on the top side, King Rob, Impressive Rob and Larson Red Sky. On the dam side the ancestry goes back to such greats of the Black Angus breed as Ankonian Dynamo and Sayre Patriot.

The sire of these embryos is FCC Rambo 502, in his day the “all time high gaining bull” at the Midland Bull Test and later famous as the sire of tremendous sons and daughters throughout the Red Angus breed. The progeny of both 904 and Rambo are now extremely rare. Rare indeed is this “classic” combination of the two.
