I am sorry to say that I could not find a good photo of Reba 225. Pictured above are two flush mates to the embryos for sale.
Reba was a very clean fronted, stylish, wedge shaped female with great capacity and depth. She made performance look great. Reba was a cow that cattlemen always picked out as a favorite when they came to visit our herd.
The Reba cow family has remained one of our strongest cow lines since we started in the Red Angus business. We purchased Reba’s grand dam in the Powel Red Angus dispersal way back in 1975 and cows of this line have always stayed at or near the top of our herd for growth and fertility. The females are very feminine with tight, sound udders and yet are deep bodied and thick. The males are muscular, growthy and virile with excellent feet and legs. Most are dark red in color.
Reba 225’s sire was the famous BJR Hobo 800, Yogo 002’s best son and the bull that started the Hobo dynasty, which includes among others Hi Ho-916, Buffalo Creek Hobo 1961, Basin Hobo and many other sires of note. 225 is also the dam of our current donor FLYF Reba 441.
225 x Hi Ho 916 may be the best nick for growth and maternal traits of any HiHo 916 matings we have used. We are keeping ten of these embryos for ourselves.
